Earlier this month, The Peak Selections: Gourmet & Travel took home the title of Food Media of the Year by Media Publishers Association of Singapore (MPAS) for the second consecutive year. The win is one we hold dear to our hearts, and it couldn’t have come at a better time.

During the G Restaurant Awards 2015 Monday night, we unveiled a new look that promises to deliver our content in a fresh new light. Months of careful planning and late nights went into the making of this new G, and the result is this: eye-catching layouts (helmed by our main man, Fazlie) with new sections to whet your appetite.

Want to know how to equip your home bar? We’ve got you covered in “Home Entertaining” (p78), with tips from experts on how to plan and execute a home party.

In “Dishing it Out” (p20), we take a closer look at how the humble char siew (Cantonese-style roasted meat in sweet marinade) has come a long way to achieve gourmet standards.

And for the homesick expat or wandering gourmand, keep your eyes on another new section, “Cult Shop” (p32), where we uncover speciality food stores and spotlight epicurean treasures.

“The change is part of our ongoing effort to continually refine and improve on content and design to stay ahead of the curve,” says Sylvester Ng, editor of Gourmet & Travel.

Joanna Lee-Miller, group editor of SPH Magazines, continues: “Apart from ensuring content and design are continually refreshed, Gourmet & Travel has also launched a regular series of gastronomic events to engage our readers directly.”

It’s been one heck of a race getting to this finish line, but nothing is more rewarding than seeing our hard work come into fruition, and being recognised for it.
