[dropcap size=small]H[/dropcap]ow many people can claim to have seen, or even gotten within a metre of a bomb? Aside from those serving in the military, we presume not many have. Perhaps not many would want to, given the explosive nature of bombs. You can’t deny however, that having a large bomb as a drinks cabinet is pretty darn cool.

The brilliant folks at Fallen Furniture have repurposed an actual 1970s RAF MK1 practice cluster bomb and turned it into a stunning drinks cabinet. Built once and never to be replicated, The Bomb, which is nearly 2.5m tall and weighs over 270kg, took over six months to build and boasts a mirror-polished aluminium and steel exterior. It opens to reveal a beautifully crafted interior consisting of a polished brass and lacquered black American walnut shelving unit and door inlays, which contain custom-made copper cocktail utensils.

Founded by brothers Ben and Harry Tucker in 2013, UK-based Fallen Furniture has been repurposing reclaimed, authentic aircraft parts, from both military and civilian aircraft. Other statement pieces include a lamp made from the exhaust of a BAE146 plane, a table made from the emergency escape door of an Airbus A320 and a bar made from a plane’s engine cowling. Xeroxing products by these guys would be an almost impossible task.
