Punjab Grill offers a five-course menu at $99 to $110 this Deepavali with appetizers such as tender grilled chicken marinated with charcoal powder and main courses such as keema kaleji pao made from chicken liver. Customers can also opt for a vegetarian menu including Bharwan bottle gourd served with makhani sauce. Finish it off with dessert featuring their special mithai “sweets” selection.
Sweets are combined with dry fruits to give a contemporary twist to traditional flavours, resulting in confections such as “darjeeling green tea with pista barfi” and “macadamia nuts and saffron swirl roll stuffed with rose petal marmalade”. The velvet mithai boxes are also available for order in two sizes, “Jannat” and “Royal”, at $79 and $120 respectively.
Dine with The Song of India’s specially crafted menu from Oct 18 to 22, featuring dishes that pay tribute to traditional Indian cuisine, such as mince mutton stuffed with quail’s egg and tiger prawn cooked in coconut gassi sauce. Vegetarian options such as cottage cheese cubes cooked with crushed spices and banana flower vegetable with masala are also available.
Take home their 2017 collection of Premium Celebration Mithai, featuring exclusive new additions such as “Gula Melaka & Feuilletine Sensation” sprinkled with melon seeds and “Black Sesame, Charcoal & Organic Coconut Indulgence”. The boxes also contain other favourites like sweets made from preserved rose petals from Lucknow, India and cashew rolls. Premium Celebration Mithai gift boxes start from $45.

On Oct 18 to 19, Rang Mahal will be featuring regional festive favourites, such as crescent shaped pastries stuffed with fresh coconut and unrefined sugar jaggery from Maharashtra and lamb shanks in lucknowi curry from Lucknow. The buffet will showcase live stations producing classic street food, including delhi ka poochka and dahi papdi chaat made from potatoes. Reservation is available at $58++/pax.
Old favourites such as mango and pistachio make their reappearance in this year’s mithai collection with saffron-lenti, made from slow-roasted gram flour and saffron, being the newcomer to the selection. They are now available for order as a premium box comprising of 32 mithai pieces at $128++. The premium box also features 2 chocolate flavours, coconut white chocolate truffles infused with lemongrass and dark chocolate truffles with fennel, as well as 4 savouries, roasted almonds, spiced cashews, pickle-flavoured wheat crisps and chocolate brittle.
At $68/pax, Yantra by Hemant Oberoi is offering dinner buffets on Oct 17, and lunch and dinner buffets on Oct 18 and 19. Expect to see an array of live cooking stations, such as chaat (Indian street food) and Raan carving stations, as well as signature dishes such as crab galouti and quiona papdi.
Diwali treats are also up for grabs in the form of traditional mithai, besan laddu and dates and nuts burfi, as well as home-made spiced nuts, including macadamia, pistachio, almond and cashew. Prices range from $39 to $89.

End your meal with a dessert of your choice from over twelve selections, including dumplings made from cottage cheese soaked in milk with cardamom and the ice cream bar with saffron mango kulfi. Six different variations of laddus and burfi mithai, ranging from anjeer rose petal to kaju pistachio, are also the star of Tandoor’s 2017 collection. Opt to choose from either five variations in the ‘Classic Sweets Set’ at $68++ or four mithai choices in the ‘Premium Sweets Set’ at $88++.
