Have a taste of Poland at the first ever Polish Food Festival in Singapore which commences 18 May at Conrad Centennial Hotel. Six talented Polish chefs will fly in from Poland to prepare their national cuisine and tasty drinks (like Polish vodka cocktails) at various locations here, including Oscar's Restaurant and Botanico at The Garage. A heads-up for whiskey lovers: this inaugural event by craft spirits distributor Proof & Company showcases Singapore's finest American whiskey brands such as High West and Michter's. Famous local bars like 28 HongKong Street and Manhattan have mixed up cocktails for a weekend of barbeque and fun at The Great Escape. Also expect master classes, a whiskey tasting bar and blind tasting booth.
This one's for the cheese lovers. Ginett Singapore is bringing in France's official cheese ambassador Gerard Poulard to share his cheese expertise. The cheese master will be bringing fine French cheeses from boutique producers such as tamie de savoie (made from milk of more than one herd of cows). Check this out if you're looking to brush up your cheese and wine pairing knowledge.
This 2-day sustainable wine festival held at Camp Kilo Charcoal Club will be a great introduction to the sustainable wine movement. The Straits Wine Company will be featuring their top natural, bio-dynamic and organic wines like Angove wild olive organis shiraz 2015 and Unico Zelo berry blossom rosato 2016; Unico Zelo owners Brendan and Laura Carter will also be present to answer questions. And of course, there'll be tastings and discounted bottles on show! A perfect weekend activity for wine lovers looking to drink sustainably.
This June, eight bars in town - Neon Pigeon, Sugarhall, and more - will be putting their own spin on the Negroni cocktail in a bid to raise funds for charity. Guests have the option to donate directly to their charity of choice and each participating bar will also donate at least $1 from their Negroni-related products. Guilt-free drinking? We definitely approve.
