Bangkok’s Gaggan is number one on the 2017 Asia’s 50 Best list. The event was held in Bangkok last night (21 February 2017).
Taking the second spot is Restaurant Andre by chef Andre Chiang, making it the highest ranked Singapore restaurant this year. Third place goes to Amber, Hong Kong.
Eight other Singapore restaurants made this year’s top 50 selections including: Odette (9), Burnt Ends (10), Les Amis (16), Waku Ghin (20), Corner House (23), Tippling Club (27), Jaan (42), Shinji by Kanesaka (44). Burnt Ends’ chef Dave Pynt also took home the Chef’s Choice Award.
Singapore ties with China, Japan and Thailand with nine restaurants on the list, which is created from the votes of the Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants Academy, a group of over 300 leaders in the restaurant industry across Asia.
