[dropcap size=small]H[/dropcap]igh tea at Anti:dote has made it on the list of every lady (and gent) who sips, pinky finger out, ever since Fairmont gave the lobby bar a timely revamp three years back. The thing that draws them back time and again: a high tea served not on conventional tiered trays, but in a handsome, all-white leather chest that hides over 10 delectable varieties of sweet and savoury treats in its drawers.

It might not be an all-out indulgent buffet here, but the light-bathed lounge is an ideal spot for pretty pictures and dainty nibbles. To be sure, there’s more than enough to go around. The Anti:dote tea set starts with scrambled eggs topped with caviar, served in a hollowed-out egg shell. It precedes a selection of mini sandwiches, quiche, petit cakes and marshmallow jellies, and chocolate-dipped strawberries.

Service is brisk and non-intrusive, which means pots of tea get refilled quickly, before you’re left to be as camera trigger-happy as you please. And for reason to linger, head craftsman Tom Hogan has some pretty wicked concoctions – like a Bunny Hop mix of pisco, juice and lime – up his sleeve.
