01: Write down a physical task list
And we mean everything. From reminders to your daily tasks, gives you focus and allows you to visually see what you’re supposed to do. You’ll also feel a huge sense of satisfaction when you check things off your list.
02: Quit multitasking
Instead of blindly multitasking, put all your energy into completing a task well and thoroughly, to the point where it doesn’t require revisiting or edits. You’ll realise that you’ll feel less overwhelmed, and be able to complete your work faster, with quality to boot.
03: Keep your workspace neat
Having a clutter-free and streamlined work space will ensure that you’re not easily distracted. You’ll also be able to focus on tasks at hand rather than worry about where to balance that next binder or folio.
04: Prioritise and pick the right battles
Every morning, list the top three (to five) things you absolutely have to do for the day. Work towards completing these tasks, and leave those of lesser importance to the end of the day. You’ll have significant gains in efficiency.
05: Keep an end goal in mind
If your goal is to be able to get home on time to have dinner with your loved ones, use that as motivation to power yourself through the day. This could also mean a meal with friends or enjoying your favourite show in peace.
