Emeritus Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong graces SPRMRKT’s “Dining with A Conscience” private dinner

“Dining with a Conscience” is a new social initiative by local boutique supermarket / bistro / art space SPRMRKT which aims to give back to society. The platform was started in 2016 as an avenue for small businesses to aid in supporting people with disabilities.

The opening night was held on Nov 23 (Thursday) in the presence of Emeritus Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong and 33 esteemed guests who supported the private dinner. Guests savoured a delightful 6-course menu created by Chef-Owner Joseph Yeo and the culinary team at SPRMRKT Kitchen and Bar.
The highlight of the night featured photographer Isabelle Lim who presented her photo essay titled ‘Living With Grace’, delivered via silent video. The moving photo essay was a collaboration with cousin, copywriter Tham Yin May, and inspired by her elderly grandmother’s resilience, the latter having lived her silver years out well.

Lim, who is diagnosed with Nager Syndrome, will have her works featured at art space Here\Now in SPRMRKT Daily. They reflect how living well, both physically and mentally, can become increasingly challenging as one ages.

The initiative was a success – a grand total of $31,000 was raised through 2 days of private dinners.
