tribute bands speak of timeless music and on June 27, the sensual vocals of Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra and Sammy Davis Jr rang out once more at “The Definitive Rat Pack” Charity Gala organised by the British Theatre Playhouse. Over 300 guests, including Singapore President Halimah Yacob, British High Commissioner H.E. Scott Wightman, and Malaysia High Commissioner H.E. Zulkifli Adnan, attended the performance and hummed to classics such as “Love and Marriage”, “Sway” and “Fly Me To The Moon”.
After its Singapore stop, the show went to Kuala Lumpur, then Dubai. Says Cecilia Leong-Faulkner, founder and managing director of the British Theatre Playhouse: “The aim of the Playhouse has always been to inspire and bring world-class live entertainment shows from London to Singapore and the region, as well as to organise charity events for those who need them the most.” The gala raised $71,000 for The Business Times Budding Artist Fund.
