National Heart Centre Singapore’s Heart to Heart Gala raises over $2 million for its cause

The third National Heart Centre Singapore’s (NHCS) Heart to Heart Gala held on Oct 5 at The Ritz-Carlton, Millenia Singapore saw more than 500 guests in attendance and raised more than $2 million for its Heart to Heart Fund. The fund aims to support financially needy heart patients and contribute towards cardiovascular research, as well as the training of cardiac healthcare professionals. This year’s fundraising gala held special significance as the NHCS celebrates 20 years of providing healthcare for cardiac patients.

The gala partnered wine connoisseur Dr N K Yong and celebrated chefs such as Julien Royer, Cheung Siu Kong, Beppe De Vito, and Jean-Georges Vongerichten to curate a five-course fine dining menu for guests. Another highlight of the gala was the auction of ink paintings and a piece of calligraphy donated by renowned Singapore painter Lim Tze Peng.

Guest of honour and Minister of Finance Heng Swee Keat was presented a cheque by Steven Yen, Non-Executive Chairman of New Toyo International Holdings Limited, whose $1 million gift will go towards the establishment of a Cardiovascular Research and Education Fund.
