A total of $1.03 million was raised at the Singapore Island Country Club’s (SICC) 48th May Day Charity on May 1, helping 21 beneficiaries including children, the elderly and the disabled,
The main charity golf tournament saw close to 530 golfers vying for hole-in-one car prizes on the club’s golf courses while the gala dinner held at the Island Clubhouse’s grand ballroom was attended by 230 donors. President Halimah Yacob, the charity’s patron, graced the occasion for the second year in a row.
Highlights of the gala dinner included a traditional Malay dance by the Ain Society, a beneficiary of this year’s event; musical performances from 10-year-old ukulele prodigy Jordin Tan; and a stand-up comedy segment with Fakkah Fuzz.
