Shoes take the spotlight at Paris’s Museum of Decorative Arts

Highlights include shoes worn by Marie Antoinette herself, and exotic creations from contemporary designers like Alexander McQueen.

Paris’s Musée des Arts Décoratifs will be presenting an exhibition exploring the history of the shoe. “Marche et démarche – Une histoire de la chaussure” will be on show at the museum from November 7, 2019 to February 23, 2020. The exhibit charts the evolution of this accessory, essential to daily life, and examines its status in various eras and cultures. It’s a look at famous shoes as well as some surprising examples of footwear from over the centuries.
