01: Aura, National Gallery

  • Evening View

Seated atop the National Gallery, Aura is in prime position for race watching – the National Gallery is opposite the Padang, astride a long straight in front of the Padang grandstand. A G Restaurant Awards 2016 Award of Excellence recipient, the restaurant’s Sky Lounge on level 6 offers a panoramic view of the circuit, while being close enough to make out the car liveries as they streak down the track. Have your Italian mains and homemade pasta indoors, before moving out the roof for bar bites and a glass of wine from Aura’s extensive wine list of over 500 labels. To reach Aura through the F1 road closures, enter through National Gallery’s main entrance at Coleman Street. www.aura.sg.

02: Axis Bar and Lounge, Mandarin Oriental

  • Track view with Mandarin Oriental

For those seeking to catch the cars as they slow around a bend, check out Mandarin Oriental’s Axis Bar and Lounge, which will be transformed into an Oyster and Champagne bar for the weekend. Unlimited servings of oysters and champagne (Ruinart Blanc de Blancs on Friday and Saturday and Dom Perignon on Sunday) will be available over all three nights, as well as canapés, miniature deserts, desert and charcuterie. To reach Axis Bar and Lounge through the F1 road closures, go through the nearest MRT station – Promenade (Exit A, towards Marina Square). www.mandarinoriental.com/singapore/fine-dining/axis-bar-and-lounge.
