01: Empress
We all know mothers deserve to be treated like queens, especially on this special day. And what better restaurant to take her to than Empress, at a prime spot along the Singapore River? Natural light streams in through floor-to-ceiling windows, and wooden accents add a classy touch. There is unlimited dim sum at brunch (both you and mum will appreciate the free-flow Perrier-Jouët champagne available with an additional $60), or weekend dinner specials like suckling pig and giant grouper.

02: Pollen
Located within Gardens By The Bay’s Flower Dome, Pollen transports you to a lush mediterranean garden, where you dine surrounded by lovely blooms. The five course lunch menu includes a choice of either the restaurant’s signature poached and roasted french duck or the confit gigha halibut, and sauteed scallop, a starter that is available only on the day itself. And because you don’t need a special occasion to dine out at a nice place with mum, Executive Chef Steve Allen has also created a Mothers & Daughters Lunch Menu featuring lighter dishes ladies will love, available till Jul 6.

03: The Knolls
Take a breezy evening ride out to Sentosa, where Capella Singapore is offering up a four course dinner at The Knolls, specially prepared by Culinary Director David Senia. Start with the smoked haddock and seafood sagne, and choose either the beef tenderloin in Provencal style or pan-seared sea bass for your main course. Finish off with a dark chocolate fondant and enjoy the rest of the night with mum, in the elegant and intimate setting with seafront views. Now that’s what we call quality time.

04: The Naked Finn
Make a trip down to Gillman Barracks – the outstanding seafood here is definitely worth it. If your mum is a fan of crustaceans, order her the restaurant’s prized gamba carabineros from Spain, a briny treat she’ll love. The woody interiors are suited to a laid-back lunch or dinner. Afterwards, take a stroll through the exhibitions at the art galleries. Sounds like a relaxing time away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, for both you and mum.

05: Artemis
For the mum who enjoys Mediterranean fare, this contemporary rooftop restaurant located in the CBD is a must-try. Take in views of the Marina Bay cityscape from 40 floors up while tucking in to Artemis’ Spring menu, which offers sharing platters great for the whole family. Hearty dishes include Australian Bone-In Wagyu Striploin and Fadi Whole Organic Chicken. There are also healthy vegetarian options like Egg Raviole and Beetroot Gnocchi. Save some space for the decadent desserts (psst, the Acarigua & Cherry looks like a crowd-pleaser). The upscale establishment also boasts a 350-bin wine list and alfresco terrace, perfect for lingering over a few drinks after dinner.
