Luxury homes: a marble-clad Marina One Residences condo apartment
Gleaming marble and gold accents luxe up this neutral-toned home.
With its polished gleam and elegant veining, marble imparts an upscale and and graceful ambience to any space.
In this 2,250 sq ft Marina One Residences condominium unit, it is reimagined in a contemporary setting, dressed in a neutral palette accented with gold metal inserts and cappings. The inhabitants of the residence, a couple in their late twenties and their three children, sought out design studio Distinctidentity to create their dream residence, which involves lots of marble textures and a luxe, modern feel.
Grey marble walls with striking veining feature in the living room, as well as a tray ceiling edged in reflective metal strips that are also seen on the walls. Artfully placed LED and cove lighting further add to the sophistication of the room.
Also incorporated through the home, thanks to the homeowner’s love of technology, is a smart system that controls the lighting, curtains and air-conditioning.
“One of the major challenges was the marble in the living room, as we had to make sure make sure the sizes and texture were proportionate. We also had to be extra careful during the dry lay process, since it is a natural material, and some variations in the texture and grain are common ” says Distinctidentity’s design team.
An open plan imbues the living are with a sense of space. It also houses a gourmet pantry island, as well as the dining area, which looks out to the remarkable views of the Marina Bay skyline.
The furnishings in the balcony are understated and elegant, complementing the aesthetic of the interiors. The furniture throughout the house are all sourced from China.
Marble-clad walls of the hallway hint at the interiors of the apartment’s living spaces.
For the bedrooms, Distinctidentity took a more tactile approach. The headboard, for instance, is upholstered and tufted for a soft, cosy and sophisticated look. The feature wall, while a departure from the marble outside, ties in with the rest of the living spaces thanks to a grey and gold palette.
Fully decked in marble, the bathroom marries both classic glamour with sleek modernity.
The renovation, which cost $320,000, took over eight weeks to complete.
