Miami Beach EDITION is the latest urban resort to hit the shores of the Mid-Beach area in the coastal resort city in Florida. American real estate developer, Ian Schrager, in partnership with Marriott International, has created a new kind of resort environment that caters to a new generation of business people.

“We’re re-thinking the relationship between a resort and a businessperson,” says Schrager, “and we’re saying, you’ll be able to come here for your business, why shouldn’t you be able to have fun, and enjoy life while doing business, and networking, in a space that is almost a kind a business club.”

Besides being a one-stop resort with shopping, dining and recreational activities, what stands out in particular is the Forum, a 10,000 square-foot amenity that reimagines the traditional conference center and event space. The Forum is designed as a large reception room flooded with natural light and a landscaped exterior event space, aiming to be a cultural park that will host gallery openings, art exhibitions and film festivals all year round. The ballroom carefully avoids the ornate chandeliers that are common fittings in the typical conference space, replacing it instead with state-of-the-art audio-visual projections and teleconferencing equipment to ensure a well-equipped and modern meeting place for academic conferences and corporate retreats.
