[dropcap size=small]C[/dropcap]halking up over 3,000 km on the odometer while in a sports car sounds like our kind of road trip – better yet if one is in pleasurable company of like-minded gearheads. That’s exactly what more than 20 drivers from the Ferrari Owners’ Club Singapore (FOCS) set out to do on their recent 2016 Drive of the Year to Phuket.

Split into two convoys comprising models such the octane-laden 488 GTB, F12berlinettas and even 5 limited edition 458 Speciales, the members of the club departed from Singapore via the Tuas causeway, and worked their way up north. Pit stops at seaside resorts and famous eateries dotted the trail. A trio of support cars shored up the expedition.

This year’s road trip is the Club’s farthest to date. Through the drive, a grand sum of THB 150,000 (S$6050) was raised for a school in Thailand – a gesture the Club makes whenever they visit the country.

Says Drive / Motoring Director and long-standing member of the Club, Jes Wong: “It was not about just driving our Ferraris on a Long expedition, but an opportunity to know and enjoy our cars more intimately and passionately, and a platform through which new and stronger friendships are formed with different members and also the many people who were on the trip together.”

Owners of any Ferrari model and make are welcome to apply to join the 250-strong club.
