It’s all about the Formula 1 Singapore Grand Prix this weekend. The 11th edition of this year’s night race at the Marina Bay Street Circuit takes place from Sept 14 to 16 2018, bringing with it the requisite adrenaline, glitz, and glamour. While some might prefer to soak up the high octane action closer to the track, those seeking a night of revelry fuelled with drinks from a full-fledged bar can keep an eye on the circuit from these chic watering holes.
Skai
Fancy getting a circuit-side look as the cars whizz around Turn 9 of the racetrack? Skai offers exactly that from its perch on the 70th floor of Swissôtel, The Stamford. Floor-to-ceiling windows offer panoramic views over the F1 circuit, giving you an up-close look at all the trackside action. Pair the excitement with indulgent canapés like a mini Wagyu burger with Gruyère cheese and seared foie gras. On Sunday, you’ll also be able to feast on the Skai High Night Race Dinner ($188++ per adult; 7pm-10pm) which includes free-flow wines, cocktails and beers. The dinner incudes a fully-loaded, buffet-like array of charcuterie, salads, and small bites like burrata, mini Wagyu burgers, and seared foie gras, along with ‘dessert shelves’ stocked with strawberry shortcake tarts and chocolate parfaits, to name a few.

Level 33
At Level 33, you’ll have a front-row view of the Marina Bay street circuit, and access to some of the best craft beers in the city. On Friday and Sunday, a general cover charge of $33 includes a signature craft brew or glass of wine. But race fans will want to round up a group of friends and book the Terrace Table Package ($333++). This all-inclusive bundle includes views of the circuit and indoor screenings of the race, along with an outdoor table for four, two beer tasting paddles, and a ploughman’s board or seafood medley to snack on. You’ll also get cover charge for six guests, six craft beers (or a bottle of boutique wine). Reservations necessary.

Smoke & Mirrors
For true F1 Grand Prix fans, there’s no better bar to catch the racetrack action from. Perched above the National Gallery, Smoke & Mirrors has unparalleled views of the Padang and Grandstand. The action kicks off on Friday, Sep 14, with a supercharged party fuelled by the race action below. From 5pm – 10pm, enjoy a buffet spread and free-flow drinks as you watch the cars careen around the track. You’ll enjoy starters like roast pork belly, a live station serving Peking duck wraps and roast beef, hefty mains like handmade mee pok with abalone essence, and sweet bites like rhum chocolate pralines.

From its position on the 43rd floor, Zafferano offers hearty mod-Italian cuisine with fantastic panoramas of the Grand Prix racetrack. Grab a perch on the terrace for the best views, and keep an eye on the big screen indoors to catch race details and highlights. Saturday, September 15 is an all-day occasion, so pace yourself. Start with the Singapore Grand Prix Champagne Brunch Party ($168++, 12pm-3pm) which includes an Italian meal with free-flow Champagne and house wine. Later, catch all the action on the Terrace Lounge while enjoying unlimited Prosecco, house wines, and beer ($98++, 7pm-10pm).

Ce La Vi
Sitting atop Marina Bay Sands, Ce La Vi features one of the best bird’s-eye-view of the racetrack. You’ll be able to see all the Grand Prix action while enjoying one of the best parties in town – along with a decadent meal. Cé La Vi is offering a five-course modern Asian menu ($198++) and a six-course Race Week set menu ($298++), accompanied by wine-pairings by master sommelier Mathias Camilleri ($168++/$248++). 1-Altitude
Boasting 360-degree views of the Marina Bay street circuit – from 282 metres in the sky – 1-Altitude offers one of the city’s best vantage points from which to watch the race. You’ll be able to spend the whole weekend here, as the bar is hosting all manner of revelry. The Circuit Party is the main event, a raucous celebration with tunes by DJs Cuebrick, Mari Ferrari, Moti, and The Him. Cover charge for the party includes one premium spirit and an exclusive F1 cocktail ($68, 6pm-9pm; $88 after 9pm). Extend the racetrack action with the Heineken More Than a Race Party, and on Sunday, celebrate the new reigning champion with an extravagant event presented by Champagne Carbon.
